On September 12, 2024 “Dragami Games” had released a remastered version of their beloved game “Lollipop Chainsaw” extremely early! Many fans have been excited while some are far from happy about this game’s release. Today, we are looking at what is “Lollipop Chainsaw” and is this game worth getting considered by fans?
“Lollipop Chainsaw” was originally released in 2012 and was known for being an action-adventure zombie game as well as being very comedic with the jokes. The main character, Juliet, is a cheerleader zombie hunter whose objective is to fight against the horde of zombies at San Romero High School. On her 18th birthday, Juliet goes to meet her boyfriend Nick in front of the highschool so he can properly introduce himself to her family. Tragically, a zombie outbreak suddenly began which Juliet has to fight her way through in order to meet up with Nick to make sure he’s okay. When she finally finds Nick, he is bitten in her place to protect her from a zombie. To prevent him from turning into the walking dead, she decides to decapitate him. Somehow Nick wakes up and is still alive even in his current condition. Juliet then reveals a secret that her family is a part of an organization of zombie hunters and she performed a dark ritual in order to keep him alive. She then attaches Nick’s head on her belt so he can travel along safely with her. Her objective now is to give Nick a new body, figure out the source of what is causing this zombie outbreak – then stop it, and return in time for her birthday party.
Now that the remastered version has been published many fans have noticed sudden changes between the gameplay and style. It’s been said to be a janky mess that looks even worse than the original but many people are proud of the game’s sudden return; bringing back memories of what a wonderful game it was. In my personal opinion, I believe that the new Lollipop Chainsaw Repop is definitely worth it for players who are playing it for the first time or those who just want the deja vu experience when playing, but if you have the original copy of the game on your xbox 360 or ps3 then I would say that it would probably be best to just replay that.
