A lot of schools are banning phones in schools, some schools can’t even bring them into the school. But in the world today students need their phones in schools, while schools are worried about students phone uses, a lot of bad is happening in schools during this time.

Here are some reasons why schools should reconsider and allow phones back in schools:

Emergencies- Everyday in schools, there is a family related emergency that parents don’t want to have to inform the school about. So, they want to be able to text their child; if they can’t, the student may miss something important or tragic going on in their family.

Ensure children safety- Cell phones can be used when help is needed, if in trouble and a child has their phone they can call authorities, if no one else can. If authorities need someones medical ID, it’s on cell phones, if they can’t find someone to help identify, then they need another option to be able to figure out who someone is.

Intuitive learning- With Phones students can access online libraries, research databases, and also access educational apps that help kids learn.

Prepare for the future- The future holds lots of technology filled careers. Teaching the next generations about technology and what it can be used for will help them utilize it and use it for the good of humanity in the future.

Social connectivity- As children mature their social lives, they not only socialize in school, but all over. Social connectivity also helps reach long distance family and friends if anything happens.

Now yes, phones may be distracting for students but also teachers do tend to be on their phones as well, even if schools ban them, the teachers still use them. So schools should reconsider the phone ban in schools, even if its just a little more freedom of use, it could still help out, giving students the time to connect family and friends.
