Thanksgiving is an important time to all who celebrate. The gathering of family, the wide spread of food, and the bonding of people who you care about. However, thanksgiving is also one of the most stressful times of the year. It takes a lot of time and prep. If anything went wrong it could set back the whole holiday. But, no matter the stress, the cooking, and finding a way so everyone can come over. The most important thing about thanksgiving is the family.
Summary
The episode begins with Skips and Pops making the turkey and other food for Thanksgiving. Benson says everything is going to schedule. All that is left is to pick up the family members. Mordecai and Rigby prepare the table and Benson tells them to stay out of the kitchen and no football. However they do that anyways and results in all the food being destroyed. Benson yells at them asking if they even care for the family. Everyone splits up to get another turkey, the sides, and pick up the family members. Mordecai and Rigby realize that they won’t get a turkey in time. Until a commercial shows that a song contest will happen and the winner gets a Turducken. They went down to the concert while working on their song. Muscle Man heads down to a sports bar and orders some sides. While he waits, he watches the football and insults the end zone dance of Brock Stettman. As they were laughing, Brock Stettman appeared behind them. Meanwhile Benson, skips, and Pops finds the last turkey and they are unaware they are being watched. They were leaving with the turkey, the turkey gets stolen by thanksgiving dressed individuals.
Mordecai and Rigby are stuck in traffic and won’t make it to the contest in time, until Mordecai gets an idea. They head down to Margaret’s dad, Mr. Smith’s house and ask him to help them save Thanksgiving with his helicopter. At the sports bar, Brock Stettman challenge Muscle man to an End Zone Dance Off. Muscle Man does great but fails the final split. Brock Stettman tells he that he won and threw the ball on the ground resulting in Muscle Man’s sides to fall to the ground. At the same time, the others chase down the turkey thieves and get the turkey back. But they drop the turkey on the street and it gets run over by a motorcycle. While Mordecai and Rigby practice their song, Mr. Smith tells them that to win the contest they need to make a song from the heart. Suddenly, they see that millionaire, Rich Buckner is the final contestant and hired a ton of great musicians to sing a song. Everyone enjoys the song and Mordecai and Rigby rush down to the contest. They make it just in time but just as they were, they are told that their families won’t be coming in for Thanksgiving. They almost give up but they realize what their song needs to be about. Telling the people that thanksgiving is about family and friends and what they are grateful for. Everyone watches them sing and cheers them on. Mordecai and Rigby win the contest but the turducken is stolen by Rich Buckner and flies off on his Blimp.
Mordecai and Rigby hop in the helicopter and chase him down. Everyone watches who Buck stole the Turducken and bands together to help Mordecai and Rigby. They catch up to Buck and Buck tells them to have a seat. Buck explains how the Turducken has a golden wishbone that actually grants wishes. Buck wants to wish the rights to thanksgiving, while everyone attacks the Blimp. They try everything but can’t get the wishbone away from him. Buck knocks them off the Blimp and as he makes his wish, he realizes that Rigby switched the wishbone out for spoons and Buck crashes into a bridge. Mordecai and Rigby use all their strength to break the wish bone and wish they were home with their families. They appear back at the park and are told that their families made it to the house. Everyone goes inside and enjoys being around each other. Benson stands up and makes a toast, he is proud of Mordecai and Rigby for saving thanksgiving. After the toast, everyone eats some food and say Happy Thanksgiving.
In my opinion
This was an amazing Thanksgiving special, it really showed how important family is. Thanksgiving is the most amazing time for family and what you are truly grateful for. I truly love everything about Thanksgiving but I love spending time with the people I care about. To hurry this up and spend time with my family, I give this a 9/10.
