CCHS boys’ Varsity soccer attends a tournament at Kickapoo High School in Springfield, MO, on October 2nd, 2025.
Kickapoo High School hosted a soccer tournament, which included the high schools of Capital City, Nixa, Logan-Rogersville, and Carthage. From Thursday to Friday, these teams played each other to determine the best team.
The Head Coach of CCHS boys’ Varsity soccer, Coach Henley, was interviewed about the tournament and the team’s expectations.
“How are you preparing to play against Nixa?”

“ We’ve been watching film, talking about their setup, and what we’re gonna do against them. They run a 3-back, which we haven’t faced yet this year, so it’s gonna be a little different for us, but we’ll get ready to play them. It’s gonna be a tough challenge.”
“What are your expectations of the team this tournament?”
“The biggest expectation is that we go and we compete.”
On Thursday, October 2nd, CC played Nixa. After a hard, intense game, it was a 5-0 win for Nixa. The very next game, CC and Logan-Rogersville clashed. The result was a 1-3 loss to CC. On the final day, it was CC vs Carthage. It was a tough game which ended with a 0-1 loss.
It was a tough tournament; every team tried their hardest. Even though it didn’t go CC’s way, they have moved on and have bigger things on their mind, District Champions.
