Staycation: Jefferson City Spring Break Destinations

With the pandemic still in full swing, traveling to a bustling tourist destination might not be the safest or most feasible option for everyone. However, you can have your vacation right here in Jefferson City. Below are a few options for next week’s stay cation.

YMCA Day Pass

There are two locations in Jefferson the Ellis and Knowles location that offer these amenities include, an indoor pool, tennis courts and racquetball. Day passes are $5 for those under 17 and $10 for those over 18.

Runge Conservation Nature Center

As noted by their website the Runge has, “Wildlife-filled outpost offering indoor exhibits, an aquarium, diverse nature trails & bird watching.” They have 5 trails that total 2.4 miles, perfect for a daily stroll.

Virtual Dungeons and Dragons

On Thursday, March 25th, from 6:00pm – 8:30pm Missouri River Regional Library is hosting an online Dungeons and Dragon game night! If you’re interested, Please contact Megan at [email protected] for more information or to sign up.

Ghost Hunts

Alternatively, if you were looking for an event you wouldn’t participate in and needed to spend some of your tax return, reserve a spot for Ghost Hunts USA at the Missouri State Penitentiary. Tickets are $129, and must be purchased at Ghost Hunts USA. You would arrive at 8:30 pm and sleep with a ghost and depart 6:00 am the following morning.
