Developing Business Leaders: DECA

CCHS introduces new club: DECA

Kalynn Meineker

While DECA has been around for quite some time now in schools across the country, a chapter has finally made its debut at Capital City. DECA stands for Distributive Education Clubs of America and is an association of students that are presented with opportunities to build leadership skills through academic conferences and competitions. Furthermore, DECA encourages students to enhance their connections and communications. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management all throughout high schools and colleges around the world.

DECA is sponsored by Mrs. Westcott in room 212, and at this time being able to be a part of DECA requires you to be in one of Mrs. Westcott’s classes. This includes: Intro to Business, Marketing, or Business Law. If this sounds like something you may be interested in, consider contacting Mrs. Westcott ([email protected]). As of now, DECA is in need of more members.
