As the end of the year rolls around, many Spotify users look forward to Spotify Wrapped- a review of their music habits from the year. Spotify Wrapped shows stats such as how many minutes you spent listening, your top 5 listened songs and artists, and what genres you listen to most. I polled students at CCHS about their listening in 2022, and here are the results.

48 responses were received! The stats are as follows.

10% of the students listened to less than 10,000 minutes of music. Most students (54%) listened to around 10,000-50,000 minutes of music. 15% of students listened to 50,000-100,00 minutes, 8% 100,000-200,000, 2% 200,000-300,000 and 300,000-400,000, and 8% of students listened to 400,000+ minutes of music. That’s nearly 3/4 of a year… you guys must be dedicated to your music. I like it.

The average number of genres explored was 59, but some students said they had too many genres to count. The lowest number was 1, and the highest was 926!!

There were many different top 5 genres, so I collected the data and made an overall Top 5 Genres:

1. Pop, with 40/47 having it in their Top 5
2. Rap, with 33/47 having it in their Top 5
3. Rock, with 32/47 having it in their Top 5
4. Indie, with 26/47 having it in their Top 5
5. Country & Alternative tied, 9/47 having it in their Top 5
