Plume Review: Texas Killing Fields Documentary
I love true crime documentaries! Real events that are portrayed in a sequence that pulls you in and keeps you on the edge of your seat till the last minute of the last episode. With emotions like excitement, fear, anger, and pity follow you throughout ultimately giving you insight into the world that were living in. A new true crime series just aired on Netflix called “Crime Scene: The Texas Killing Fields.” Three episodes, each one about 50 minutes, long directed by Joe Berlinger, this documentary covers the murders that took place in a 25-acre land in Leauge City, Texas from 1970-1990.
My Comments: A decent documentary. They managed to compress all the cases as well as elaborate victim family stories into a three-hour documentary. However, I feel like it could have had a more gripping effect. But when covering a true crime story, you cannot expect the amount of thrill that you get from fictional crime movies. Overall, it’s worth watching if you like true crime.
