Chick Fil-A Menu: Ranked and Reviewed

Eddie Odneal

As a Chick-Fil-A employee, I have tried everything on the menu at the extremely popular restaurant. (Excluding breakfast items, hence the reason I am not reviewing those.) Before I started working here, I didn’t really understand the hype that led to the long lines both inside and out… but now I kind of do. We have pretty good food and service! Without further ado, here are the ranks! I have ranked the meals and sides (sorry desserts)

The Sandwiches

Chick-fil-A Deluxe Sandwich – #1

This sandwich is the holy grail of chicken. It is simple but has enough toppings and flavor to not be plain. Perfect with ranch!!

Taste: 4.75/5

Customizability: 5/5

  • It is very easy to add/remove toppings to these. People do it a lot!

Overall: 4.75/5

Chick-Fil-A Spicy Deluxe Sandwich – #2

The Deluxes are by far the best sandwiches, as the toppings really make the sandwich better! The pepper jack cheese on the Spicy Deluxe adds an extra hint of spice as well as the chicken, which really drives it home.

Taste: 4.5/5

Customizability: 5/5

Overall: 4.5/5

Chick-fil-A Spicy Chicken Sandwich – #3

All of my coworkers rave about how amazing it is, and after trying it, I agree too. It’s not as plain as the normal CFA sandwich because of the spicy flavor. It’s amazing also with ranch.

Taste: 4/5

Customizability: 5/5

  • Most of the sandwiches are very customizable.

Overall: 4/5

Grilled Chicken Club – #4

The grilled chicken is a healthier option, and it is very good! The only big issue I have with this sandwich is that it is messy to eat. The texture of the grilled chicken doesn’t keep the toppings on the sandwich well, and they can.. kind of slide off and make it difficult to eat. Otherwise, it is a wonderful sandwich.

Taste: 4/5

Customizability: 4.5/5

  • This sandwich is kind of big, with cheese, lettuce, pickles, tomato, and bacon. It is customizable, yes, but if you add something extra, it might get a bit messy (I know from experience)

Overall: 4/5

Grilled Chicken Sandwich – #5

This grilled option is just the club without bacon and cheese. It’s a tad plain, and can also be messy due to toppings falling while eating.

Taste: 3.75/5

Customizability: 5/5

  • It is a very common entree that people change up, and for good reason. It can have a lot of variety!

Overall: 3.9/5

Chick-Fil-A Chicken Sandwich – #6

This was a difficult one to put at the bottom. It’s good- none of the sandwiches are bad… It’s just once again too plain! Only chicken and pickles can be a bit bland, especially without sauce. (No sauce was used on sandwiches as a control)

Taste: 3.5/5

Customizability: 5/5

  • Very easy to customize and inexpensive.

Overall: 3.9/5

The Non-Sandwiches

Cobb Salad – #1

Whoever created this salad deserves an award. The taste is impeccable, with the crispy nuggets adding texture and the perfect toppings. I praise this salad with my entire soul.

Taste: 5/5

Customizability: 5/5

  • You can very easily add or remove certain salad ingredients like the corn or tomatoes, or swap out the chicken nuggets for a different kind, such as grilled nuggets. It’s very convenient when you want to change it up!

Overall: 5/5

Chick-fil-A Cool Wrap – #2

Jeff City Chick-fil-A has been out of these for a while- we don’t know when they will return, but God I miss them. I doubted them at first, but they are surprisingly flavorful while being a healthier option!

Taste: 4.75/5

Customizability: A sad 1/5. The only thing you can really change about it is the dressing that comes with it. 🙁 In my opinion, though, it doesn’t need anything changed!

Overall: 4.5/5

Chick-fil-A Nuggets – #3

A classic, these little chicken nuggets are wonderfully seasoned and pretty scrumptious even without sauce.

Taste: 4.5/5

Customizability: 1/5, you can’t really do much to it, but what is there to change? It’s amazing!

Overall: 4.5/5

Spicy Southwest Salad – #4

If you like salad and spicy, you’ll love this! This salad has wonderful toppings, but it just doesn’t top the choices above it.

Taste: 4/5

Customizability: 5/5

Overall: 4/5

Chick-n-Strips – #5

These strips are pretty appetizing. They taste a bit different from the nuggets, surprisingly- but they don’t really stick out much.

Taste: 4/5

Customizability: 2/5

Overall: 4/5

Grilled Nuggets – #6

Plain, they’re a tad bland. They need something, but I haven’t figured that out yet.

Taste: 3.5/5

Customizability: 1/5

Overall: 3.5/5

Market Salad – #7

This salad is… interesting. It’s topped with apples, blueberries, and strawberries, as well as blue cheese. It’s not a very popular choice… let’s just say that’s for a reason.

Taste: 2/5

Customizability: 5/5

Overall: 2.5/5

The Sides

Mac & Cheese – #1

This is undeniably the best dish served at Chick-fil-A. The love I have for this mac & cheese stretches across the universe. It is so cheesy, has the perfect texture, and the oven-baked taste tops it all off. I ignore my lactose intolerance to enjoy this gold.

Taste: 5/5

Customizability: 1/5 but it doesn’t need anything. It is perfect.

Overall: 5/5

Waffle Potato Fries – #2

This is the default side and for good reason. It’s a classic pick, and they are so, so tasty. It pairs very well with chicken, of course.

Taste: 5/5

Customizability: 4/5, you can ask for no salt or for them to be well done!

Overall: 4.75/5

Fruit Cup – #3

This choice is a healthy but sweet option that pairs very well with all of our entrees. The fruit in it also is very good with each other.

Taste: 4.5/5

Customizability: 3/5, you can ask we take certain fruits out if needed and we will do the best we can.

Overall: 4.5/5

Side Salad – #4

It’s a very basic side salad, but still delicious.

Taste: 4/5

Customizability: 4/5

Overall: 4/5

Yogurt Parfait – #5

It’s very tasty, but it doesn’t really fit well with the other savory sides, which bumps it down.

Taste: 4/5

Customizability: 4/5 – you can pick between cookie crumbles and granola on top.

Chicken Noodle Soup – #6

I’m sorry to chicken, but this soup isn’t really chicken-noodle-soupy. It’s thick, and isn’t as brothy as one would expect.

Taste: 2.5/5

Customizability: 0/5

Kale Crunch Salad – #7

I have not met one person who likes this salad. It is not that great, the flavors don’t really pair well, and quite frankly, it doesn’t get ordered much.

Taste: 0/5

Customizability: 0/5

Overall: 0/5

So there you have it, folks. Chick-Fil-A ranked, from a primary source! I hope you all use it wisely. 🙂 Have a wonderful break, Cavs!!
