Spring flowers meant to bring joy and a pretty sight to this season of renewal and growth. This story will consists of the top 5 spring flowers and their significance to the spring season and life in general. 

 

1: Hyacinth

Starting with Hyacinth flower this flower has the shape that resembles a cylinder with blooming bulbs sprouting from its stem. The Hyacinth is one wonderful flower that when planted in a yard, will come back every year in spring time. This flower grows in colors of Purple, lilac, baby pink, white, yellow, and blue. This flowers meanings are connected to the color yellow with jealousy, purple when your seeking a desire for forgiveness, and the blue ones are tied with care and serenity. Hyacinth’s originated from Eurasia, Mediterranean, and Southern Turkey. 

 

2: Crocus

Next is the Crocus. This flower has a similar look of the flower from Rapunzel with purple little bloomed bulbs with about 6 petals. Some that is really interesting about the Crocus flower is that it has been used over the years as the main source of saffron. Crocuses bloom in late winter through early spring. This flower is mostly seen in the colors purple, yellow, white, and blue. This flower symbolizes joy and romance as well as rebirth. Crocus flowers are native to woodland, scrub, and meadows from sea level to alpine tundra from the Mediterranean, through North Africa, central and southern Europe, the islands of the Aegean, the Middle East and across Central Asia to Xinjiang in western China.

 

3: Lily of the Valley

Now you might be thinking this is just your average lily but please don’t be fooled by the name! This is a completely different flower the shape compared to a regular lily. The shape of the Lily of the Valley flower is similar to a bowl with petals on the outside ring. This flower is significant to spring because it symbolizes purity, joy, love, sincerity, happiness, and luck. These flowers are mostly white but on some occasions they can be pink. Lilies of the Valley originated from Eurasia. Lily of the Valley tends to bloom in mid-spring through early summer. 

 

4: Iris 

The Iris is a flower that isn’t for everyone but because of its shedding petals. The shape of an Iris has one huge bulb in the middle and its shedding petals surrounding it. The Iris can be in the colors of blue, purple, yellow, white, pink, orange, brown and even black. It symbolizes hope, wisdom, trust, and valor, making it a great flower to have around the house. It originated from Ancient Greece. Iris flowers also bloom in late spring through early summer!

 

5: Forsythia

The most interesting of them all is the Forsythia flower. This flower has a lot of interesting facts that come with its split banana peel-looking shape. The Forsythia is poisonous to a certain extent, and this flower is not to be consumed in large amounts. This flower symbolizes the anticipation of the arrival of spring. Another special thing about forsythias is that their non-native shrubs are grown for their yellow flowers that bloom in early spring. This flower is mostly yellow but can grow in many different shades of gold and yellow. The Forsythia originated from east Asia, although one species hails from southern Europe.
