What is the story?
Prospero uses magic to create a storm and torment the survivors of a shipwreck. This includes the King of Naples and Prospero’s brother, Antonio. Caliban wants to overthrow his master but is manipulated by Prospero’s magical spirit Ariel. Though to be dead, the young prince Ferdinand falls in love with Miranda Prospero’s daughter. Prospero interrupts a celebration by confronting his brother and reviles his secret identity as the Duke of Milan. The families are all united and everything is resolved. Prospero frees Ariel and leaves the island.
This story was written by William Shakespeare around 1610-1611. The Tempest is often considered the final play Shakespeare wrote as the sole playwright.
When are the auditions?
The auditions are on January 27th from 4 to 7 p.m. in the black box/cafeteria. The sign-ups are in Google Classroom; if you need the code, find Mrs. Lecure and she’ll help you out.
