Tres, dos, uno… FElIZ ANO NUEVO (happy new year)!!! Good bye year 2022 and hello 2023. Every culture has its traditions and these are some of the Mexican New Year traditions.

1: Eating 12 Grapes Before Midnight- From 12:00 to 12:12 you eat one grape every minute and make a wish.

2: Colored Underwear- Red underwear is for love and passion, yellow underwear is for prosperity and happiness, green is for wealth and well being. and white is for hope and peace.

3: Walking the Suitcase- It’s a ritual to walk an empty suitcase around the house or block to bring good travels in the coming year.

4: Throwing a Bucket of Water Out the Window- Throwing a bucket of water out the window signifies throwing out the old year and welcoming the new.

5: Eating Lentils- Eating a spoonful of cooked lentils brings good fortune for the coming year.

New Years is full of traditions and celebrations, As the years go the traditions grow.
