Personal Hobby Feature: Raveene Hollis
Wikipedia says that: A hobby is an activity, interest, or pastime that is undertaken for pleasure or relaxation, done during one’s own leisure time. This article is about a very cool and unique hobby that caught my attention. The rubber duck was invented in the late 1800s to improve development skills in children. Now, they’re almost everywhere. Raveene Hollis is a junior at Capital City High School who has a hobby of collecting them.
Here are a few questions I asked Raveene:
1) What is your hobby? How long have you been doing this hobby?
My hobby is collecting rubber ducks. I’ve been doing it for about 2 ish years.
2) What do you enjoy most about your hobby?
The thing I enjoy most about collecting them is to see the range of characters they come in.
3) What is something people would not expect to come with a hobby like this?
Something someone wouldn’t expect is the crazy range of sizes of ducks.
4) Does your hobby interfere with your work/study/personal life?
No, they don’t.
5) Do you foresee yourself doing anything related to your hobby in the future: Say a few years from now?
I see myself collecting a whole army of ducks. Like hundreds of them.
6) How many rubber ducks have you collected so far?
About 50 right now.
