What are these classes and what are they about?
These classes are for theater and extending your experience if you want to join or become a person in theater. The technical theater is all about the backstage part of the theater. The people in the class will be looking at costumes/fashion, makeup, lights, sound, set making, and designing. In theaters ensemble, the people in this class will be creating a one-act for district competition, that will have actors and all of the tech. These people will be dividing up work and coming together as one in the end. In Technical theater next semester there are only 5 people in the class. If you are missing a class for the second hour and you are interested, definitely put it on your schedule. Mrs. Lecure’s explanation is,
“Introductory, One semester coarse and we cover all of the different elements of tech. theater. Which is everything that happens back stage. We have a unit about lights, sound, costumes, set design, we take fail trips over to the Miller Center, and get to go see the equipment there. Its a lot of being creative and getting to know how to make designs of your own.” She forgot to mention “we have a unit about makeup, too. lots of arts and crafty stuff.” For theaters ensemble ” year long advanced level theater class, that in the future you will have to have taken drama 1 and/or tech. to be eligible for it.” She mentioned ” You would have had to take at least of the the introductory course’.” “It is a advanced class, that we are going to use to work on and take a one act for MISHA competitions, this March. We are going some other creative things in it, too. We are doing other advanced theater this, but primarily using it as a time to pick a one act together, work on producing it. Each person in the class is going to have a role ether on stage or designing things back stage and we will take our final products to competition, and hopefully we win.” I asked what would these classes offer this year? “teach. theater is brand new, it is the first time that I would have a class that focuses on all the other important things in theater, because all of my other classes are performances based. this is an opportunity for my people who are interested in what happens back stage to get some fearther knowledge on all of our back stage stuff and to get a chance to be creative in a different way.” “Theater ensemble is an opportunity for my people who know that theater is something that they are interested in, something that they want to peruse at a higher level. It is an opportunity for them to compeat that we haven’t had before.”
What is changing next year in these classes and what has changed in Drama 1 and 2?
In actor’s ensemble, there would be a requirement for people to take drama 1 and 2 or take a combination of one of them with technical theater. When you take Drama 1 and/or 2 there will be changes from last year. Mrs Lecure rewrote the whole curriculum. She put a lot of her time and effort into this. I asked Mrs. Lecure if anything would change in these classes next year.
Her response is ” Tech. will probably pretty much stay the same, Theater ensemble will change year to year barbecues it will change based on who class and their interests are. Its all very heavily tailored to what that particularly group or ensemble wants to do. that class will have the same stricter but what we actually do will change a lot.” I asked what were the differences in Drama 1 and drama 2 “We just rewrote drama 1 and 2, while we were writing the curriculum for tech. theater and theater ensemble. It’s also in a seance its own brand new class.” I asked about who helped her rewright these classes, She said ” It was me and Jordan Heart, Mr. Heart at JC. He teaches the drama classes, although he is not teaching tech. He helped me wright the curriculum, but another teacher a new on is teaching. Robert Hash, who is teaching their tech. classes.” “Drama 1 is an introductory level course, primarily about learning the basics of theater. We do a unit about who is who in theater, getting up infrequent of people, overcoming stage fright, learning the parts of the stage, and they do a lot of solo activity that they are going to create there own performance peases, based on perimeters I give them. Drama 2 is now theater through history and were going to learn about each of the different key areas of theater and how it is changing over time.” Different units are for the fundamental parts of history about theater.
Requirements for these new and newer classes?
I asked about requirements and you don’t require, ” Drama 1 is base level for performance, drama 2 you would have needed to take drama 1.” “Tech. theater you can take at any level. You would have needed to take some combination of the introductory classes for theater ensemble.”

“I enjoy it I like the people are very enjoyable. Mrs Lecure has such a good energy it her and she is teaching us really memorable moments and Lessons we will have to learn in the future. I would definitely take it again I would recommend it to future students,expectantly if you want to get into speech and debate or theater as a learning experience.” “It’s pretty chill, I get to hang out with my friends, and I can’t wait to make a new show. Yes, because I get to produce something very fun with my class mates and we get to show people how much work we have put in.”
Technical Theater: Lilly Bethal and Leah Doll
I asked about how the year was going and would you take the class again? Lilly said, ” I like it, I want to do theater and I think that its a very fun class to take.” ” Yes, Its really fun and I made some friends in here. I like making friends, I just think in general this class is pretty cool.” Leah spoke about, “I think this class is supper cool and fun, because you get to learn about everything that goes’ on backstage.” ” Yeah I would love to take this class again, It’s supper fun. I think its fun but you also get connected with a small group of people and you can help put on a good show.”
