Top 5 Best Snacks

Top 5 Best Snacks

At the moment, the value of savory snacks globally is around 250 billion U.S. dollars with the largest product being none other than… potato chips. Is that much of a surprise? The potato chip market alone is worth over 35 billion dollars! More than 90% of adults in the U.S. admitted to eating one or more snacks on most days! The United States is leading in the Worldwide snack food market. (That’s not surprising.) With Japan following behind in second place.

For a moment, think about the variety of chip brands that exist at this time. What do you think of first? Lays? Doritos? Cheetos? What if I told you all those brands are owned by the same company? That’s right! The company “FritoLay” owns Lays, Doritos, Cheetos, Fritos, Sun Chips, Tostitos, Baken-Ets, Chester’s, Cracker Jack, Funyuns, Miss Vickie’s, Munchies, Munchos, NatuChips, Rold Gold, Ruffles, Stacy’s, The Walking Taco, and MORE. Isn’t it kind of insane how Frito-Lay owns about any chip you can think of?

Moving on, here’s my personal TOP 5 SNACKS OF ALL TIME!!! Starting with……..

5.) Popcorn –

Popcorn is one of the main snack staples, especially while watching a good movie. Not to mention, plain buttered popcorn can easily be upgraded with a generous sprinkle of popcorn seasoning. (Shout out to Kernel Seasons which is the brand I specifically use at home along with the brand our movie theater uses here in Jeff!) I’m not particularly a fan of sweet-flavored popcorn, but the salty seasonings are so savory and delicious. Seasonings for popcorn such as nacho cheddar, white cheddar, and ranch are PERFECT for seasoning your popcorn before settling in to watch a movie whether it be at home or the movie theater! Enjoying a bowl of popcorn always seems to hit the spot.

4.) Little Debbies / Hostess Mini Donuts

The brands Little Debbies and Hostess are both quite good, especially their donuts. Their donuts have similar tastes, which is why I listed them both on this list. Both brands are generally affordable when I go to buy a pack and or bag of them, and they’re very sweet cakey donuts that I enjoy constantly. The donut flavors I enjoy most between these brands are glazed donuts, strawberry donuts, and powdered donuts. When I go to pack my lunch, sometimes I put a few mini donuts in there as a mini dessert, which I consistently enjoy. I tend to eat them in the morning if I’m especially hungry.

3.) Pocky

I’m not sure how many people know about Pocky. Maybe you’ve seen them in a store or two, maybe you’ve tried them. Pocky sticks are described as “shortbread pieces covered in chocolate.” These thin biscuits covered in a chocolate coating have a special place in my heart and have been since I was younger. When my dad lived in Japan YEARS ago, from time to time, he would send me boxes of little treats and things from Japan for me. One of the main things that would show up in these boxes was Pocky! (Which originated in Japan.) I believe he only ever sent me the strawberry ones. Either way, they’re a snack I’ve loved for a LONG time, and I will continue to love them forever. They’re light and airy, nice and crispy, and the chocolate has a great snap to it as well.

2.) Hot Cheetos

I LOVE Hot Cheetos, but they absolutely burn my mouth and my insides when I eat them. The thing is, I enjoy the burn for a while, but they’re no joke. The more you eat, the more they burn. That burn only continues to grow as you continue eating. Call me a wuss all you want, but Hot Cheetos are quite spicy. The crunch is always subpar and one of the best textures you will ever feel when eating snacks. While eating Hot Cheetos, it’s perfectly paired with a good soda and your favorite show. Now that I think of it, I watched a movie based on the events surrounding the creation of Hot Cheetos. Richard Montañez who was simply a janitor at Frito-Lay came up with the fantastic snack we know today.

Cheez-It® Cheddar Jack Snack Crackers

1.) Cheddar Jack Cheez-Its –

While this may be an incredibly weird first choice on this top 5 snacks list… these Cheez-Its are no joke! When I buy a box and or bag of these Cheddar Jack Cheez-Its, they always have so much flavor, there’s always lots of cheese powder so it’ll rarely lack any taste, and they’re just straightforwardly perfect. Cheddar jack is known as a very tangy and rich type of cheese which is captured excellently in these Cheez-Its. Regular Cheez-Its are alright, although it’s hard to enjoy them since they’re quite plain. One problem I have to overcome is that it’s continuously hard to find recently. I don’t always see many places selling them, but I CAN find them at my local gas station so that’s a positive.
