American VS Belgium weather

Hello I am Joanna and I write monthly stories about my view on America. And how I feel about different things. And today I am gonna talk about the weather.

The weather in Belgium is very weird or at least I thought so. One day the sun is shining but 5 seconds later it rains then the sun comes back and then it starts snowing.

So I didn’t really think it could get any worse until i landed in st.Louis and saw the sign that said: Welcome to Missouri where you never know what the weather is gonna be like and that made me think. How can it be any worse then Belgium.

Until this winter one day it’s 25ºC (77ºF) and other days it’s -15ºC (5ºF) which is so shocking. Now next weekend it’s gonna be -21ºC (-5.8ºF) which is crazy because i have never been in any temperatures colder than -14ºC (6.8ºF) so this is very cold for me.

I dress myself very good and I am able to survive but its still very shocking.

Joanna Gysens, a junior at Capital City High School, is also involved in tennis and soccer. Her favorite subject is art. She enjoys listening to Billie Eilish. Outside of school she likes to shop in Antwerp or go on drives with her friends. One thing people might not know about her is that she comes from Belgium. She is most proud of her exchange year. Joanna looks up to Courtney and Caprice. If she could travel anywhere she would go to Los Angeles, California. If she had a superpower she would want to be able to teleport. After high school she wants to study events and project management. Her advice for other students; “DO THAT EXCHANGE YEAR!!!!!!!”
