The CCHS Dance Team is one of the more performance heavy sports in all of the athletic department. Throughout the course of the last four years the dancers of the CCHS Dance Team have continued to distinguish themselves in various performances. 

Mrs. Kilbreath is the Coach of this accomplished and gifted group of dancers and she gives some insight into what makes the dance team so unique.

“We are a group of dancers from many different backgrounds, studios, and levels. We perform at many different events from national competitions to community events and school activities”

She then shared how she started dancing and why she loves it,“I started dancing as a 3 year old girl in my own studio and fell in love with performing and dancing in general. I continued that love by encouraging and growing that love of dance within others as a dance teacher and now coach.”

The Dancers on the CCHS Dance Team when they join go through an audition process. Mrs. Kilbreath shares what the process looks like for those wanting to be on the team, “We gave auditions where outside judges evaluate potential based on skill, technique and performance quality. We as coaches also consider work ethic for who can grow the most. There are certain skills that the competition team will do so we look for that”

She finished by sharing what the highlight of the season is for the team, “highlight is the team bonding and support of each other. Getting to show off our love of dance through hard work and celebrate together.”
