The flowers are blooming, the birds are starting to chirp their hearts out, and the temperature begins to rise with the sun so bright. Spring has officially arrived, so that means Spring break is in full throttle. For Capital City High School, Spring Break starts on March 23-27th. Students are so ready to finally get a break from the overwhelming part of school.
Spring Break is the perfect time to unwind. While some spend it traveling to places like Florida or visiting amusement parks with family, others prefer relaxing at home with TV shows and video games. No matter what you choose, it’s a time to relax! I plan to enjoy Spring Break with my sisters, who are home from college. We’ll likely go thrift shopping together as much as possible.
Lately, people have noticed differences in how teachers and students spend Spring Break, sparking questions such as, “Do you think teachers live a double life?” and “Do you think students are going on DND?” This article explores the real differences between teachers’ and students’ Spring Break experiences.
I interviewed our very own staff, Ms. Patzwald, and Mr. Hodge, a part of the English department at Capital City High School, and students, seniors at Capital City High School, Elizabeth Harris, and Arliesha Mc.Davis. I asked them about their sleep cycle, their goals, and one thing they would like to do if they could drop everything right now during spring break. They told us some very interesting answers with surprising news.

What would your sleep cycle look like?
7:00 am- 9:00pm
Where are you going throughout your spring break?
I am going on a day trip to see the steamboat museum in Kansas City with my gals, and we are planning to have a good time.
Any goals for spring break
Get stuff done that I simply cannot do. For example, crafting, getting my oil changed, taking my dog for vaccinations, and getting my license renewed.
What would you do if you could drop everything right now and leave?
Go to the beach and chill with my family and dog. I plan on swimming like a mermaid.
Mr. Hodge
What would your Sleep Cycle look like?
The first couple of days, I sleep in, then after a while, my body will naturally wake up at 5:00 am. I would like to sleep later, but I absolutely cannot. I can for a couple of days, but I will immediately be back in my routine.
What are you doing during spring break?
Staying around the house, catching up with bigger jobs that I put off during the school year, and also doing some cool spring cleaning. Most of my family is close by, so I don’t travel far to see family.
Any goals for this spring Break? –
Usually, make a list of things I want to accomplish and try to work as far down the list as possible throughout the week.
What would you do if you could drop everything and go to it during spring break?
Go to some places that I dreamed about visiting, but they are too far. I would probably go to Washington, Idaho, and Oregon, and in the Northeast, he would travel to Vermont.

Keeping it the same. I don’t want my schedule to be messed up the week after I come back. I will probably go to sleep around 11.
What are you going to do during this spring break?
I am making homemade pickles by myself, listening to my favorite tunes in my favorite pajamas.

Don’t stress about thinking about Google Classroom, and prioritize my dancing skills.
What would you do if you could drop everything and go to it during spring break?
Drive to see my boyfriend in Rhode Island, go thrift shopping, and try famous pizza sticks in Rhode Island too.

What will your sleep cycle look like?
Horrible, whenever I go to sleep I go to sleep. Sometimes 5 in the morning.
What are you going to do during this spring break?
I am going to St. Louis to see my boyfriend.

Get done with my English essay and also get my grade up so I can graduate.

Travel the world and feed the homeless
Alrighty, Cavs, did you guys learn anything new? Do any secrets get debunked by chance? Whether you are spending your spring break on the ultimate vacation of the year or even doing the infamous “spring cleaning”. This is a time to relax and take your mind off anything that has to do with schoolwork. You get to let your mind finally take a break from papers, papers, and papers. You never know the energy you may need when you get back. The next time we have this major break, it is going to be for summer break, which starts later in May. Happy Spring Break, Cavaliers.
