Last week before class my teacher suggested we take a class walk before class. I was annoyed at first because the last thing I wanted to do was walk around the building. After the lap around I realized that I wanted to do another lap because it was nice to be outside in the fresh air and natural lighting.
Being outside before class started helped improve my mood, and help form a positive mindset. Being outdoors is proven to decrease stress, which helps students concentrate in class better. Physical movement like walking increases blood flow to the brain and boosts your energy levels.
When students feel calm and energized they are more likely to engage in the class activities. Time outside can als
o give the mind a break from the screens and loud school noises.
This mental reset allows students to return to class feeling refreshed rather than drained from the day.
Suggest to your teachers take a walk before class starts, and feel your mood change!
