It’s that time. America’s pastime is starting up and who better to watch than your Capital City Cavaliers. The Cavs currently hold a record of 5-3 with some major wins.

Capital City’s first two games of the season were against two Kansas City teams. The first game the Cavs played was against the Grandview Bulldogs. The Cavs played no games and wasted no time ending the game in 5 innings winning with a final score of 16-0. The 2nd game was against the Oak Park Oakies. The game was much closer than the last with the Cavs winning 6-0. With great pitching on both sides the game was close all the way until the very end.
After those two games the Cavs made their way down to Florida. The Cavs went 2-2 losing to Rockledge (2-7), and Eau Gallie (2,7). The Cavs then played the Bloomington Raiders winning the first game 10-0, and the second game 7-0. With that the Cavs made history with their pitcher John Langston throwing a no hitter, first ever in school history.

The Cavs first games back home were big ones, playing against a CMAC rival the Hickman Kewpies. The First game ended in a final score of 5-3 with John Langston holding the Kewpies to 3 and Owen Dorsey coming in to hold them at 3. The second game went all the way to the 15th inning with both teams digging deep into their bullpens. Ultimately the Kewpies came out on top with a final score of 7-6. Regardless of how the game ended both teams were determined to win and fought until the very end.
The Cavs next game is on April 7th against the Battle Spartans. With how the Cavs are playing so far don’t be surprised when the Cavs come out and throw a few punches at the Spartans to shut them down fast. With a mix of great pitching, perfect defense, and a combined love for the game and each other the Cavs are a force to be reckoned with. If I were you I would be keeping an eye on the Cavaliers.
