Background of Silence Suzuka
Silence Suzuka was foaled on May 1st, 1994 by his dam Waika and his sire Sunday Silence. Silence Suzuka was able to stand on his legs after
only 30 minutes of being foaled, which led to both Waika and Sunday Silence to worry since the average foal should be able to stand after 1 hour of being foaled. When Silence Suzuka was foaled, he was smaller than most other foals and his coat was a glossy chestnut color, he also had no noticeable flaws that could cause problems.
Races and Jockeys Featuring Silence Suzuka!
Silence Suzuka had won an astonishing nine out of sixteen races. Unfortunately, Silence Suzuka was seen as a horse who couldn’t race due to him being smaller than the other horses, but he put
those negatives into positives and became one of the fastest front-runner turf racers. Silence Suzuka had four different jockeys during his career, these jockeys are Hiroyuki Uemura, Hiroshi Kawachi, Yutaka Take, and Katsumi Minai. Silence Suzuka’s major race wins are the Takarazuka kinen, Mainichi Okan, Kinko Sho, Nakayama Kinen, and the Kokura Daishoten. He even held an award called the JRA Special Award, and had a total earnings of 455,984,000 Million Yen.
The Tragedy and Ending of Silence Suzuka 🙁
During the Autumn Tenno Sho held on November 1st, 1998, Silence Suzuka had quickly overtaken every racer
on the turf track, but this speed had a huge consequence. During the 4th turn on the track, Silence Suzuka had suddenly slowed down, allowing all the other horses to overtake him. Silence Suzuka had managed to continue running for a bit before slowing down and moving to the side to let his jockey off safely without injury. It was soon discovered that Silence Suzuka had completely shattered his left foreleg so badly that it couldn’t be fixed, which led to him being taken and humanely euthanized.
