The people who keep our school running are often the ones students notice the least. Janitors, cafeteria workers, and library staff do quiet, everyday work that makes a huge difference in our daily lives. They arrive early, stay late, and handle responsibilities most students never think about. Without them, our school would not feel clean, organized, or welcoming. Even though they do not get much attention, they are an important part of the school community and deserve more appreciation from everyone.
Every day, long before most students even arrive, the janitors begin their work. They clean classrooms, sweep and mop the hallways, take out trash, and fix small problems around the building. They make sure restrooms are stocked, floors are safe to walk on, and classrooms are ready for learning. Their work helps prevent sickness and accidents, yet many students walk past them without realizing how much effort it takes to keep the school running smoothly.

The cafeteria workers also play a major role in the school day. They prepare breakfast and lunch for hundreds of students, often starting very early in the morning. They work in hot kitchens, stand for long hours, and serve food quickly so students can eat on time. Even when the lunch lines are long or students complain about the meals, the cafeteria staff stays patient and continues doing their job. For many students, school lunch may be the most reliable meal they get that day.

In the library, the staff provides support that often goes unnoticed. They help students find books, print assignments, and complete research for projects. They keep the library organized and create a calm, quiet place where students can focus or relax. When students forget to print homework or need help at the last minute, the library staff is usually there to help without complaint.

These staff members may not receive awards or public praise, but the school would not function properly without them. They work behind the scenes every day, showing dedication and care for the school and its students. Taking the time to say thank you, show respect, or simply notice their efforts can make a big difference. Appreciating these workers helps build a kinder and more respectful school community for everyone.
