“Anybody can kill anybody, Katniss. Even a President. You just have to be willing to sacrifice yourself.” – Johanna Mason (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2)

⚠️There are a few spoilers ahead, so beware if you have not watched this movie yet.⚠️

Movie Summary:

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 was released in 2015; based on a book written by Suzanne Collins in 2010. The story continues after the previous Part 1 movie “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1.” The main character, Katniss Everdeen has now realized that the stakes are no longer JUST for survival… so she teams up with her closest friends who consist of Peeta, Gale, and Finnick for their ultimate mission. Together, they then leave District 13 to liberate the citizens of Panem city, which is a wreck. Katniss and her friends along with the people of Panem to go an assassinate President Snow, who is desperately wanting to destroy Katniss. Throughout this story, there are traps, dangerous enemies to go against, and lots of moral choices to be made that will determine the future of MILLIONS!

The second part of Mockingjay in this Hunger Games series is about 2.5/5. Here’s the pros and cons.

Pros:

  • Most movies have pretty cheesy endings, but this movie’s ending felt pretty realistic and kinda respectable.  It gives the audience more of a satisfying ending rather than an inspiring one.

  • Most of the acting in this movie is good. Although, I’ve always enjoyed the acting in most of The Hunger Games movies.

Cons:

  • At the beginning of The Hunger Games movie series and the books, Katniss starts out as a very strong character, but throughout the movie, she becomes a really weak one. It just felt as if Jennifer Lawrence was playing an extra rather than being the main character.

  • The second movie took a long time to come out after the first one was released. The first part of Mockingjay came out in 2014, with the second part coming out all the way in 2015, I think they should have released it sooner.

  • I felt as though Finnick and Prim didn’t need to die in this movie. It just felt unnecessary to me, and they died a pathetic death.

  • This movie felt very rushed, a lot of things were skipped, and a lot of scenes simply didn’t make a lot of sense.
